The Alienist

Freefolk have wrapped on the latest TV project for Paramount and TNT with series 'The Alienist' adapted from the novel by Caleb Carr. The 10-week series made it's premiere on TNTDrama on 22nd January, soon to stream on Netflix in the UK & Globally on 19th April. 

The story is set in New York in the late 19th Century centring on criminal psychologist Dr Lazlo Kreizler (Daniel Bruhl) and his cohorts to investigate a series of gruesome murders of boy prostitutes. Dubbed as an 'Alienist', the term referred to the professionals in the study or treatment of the mentally ill as being 'alienated from reality'. Joining him in the secret investigation are detective McCreadie (Luke Evans) and police secretary (Dakota Fanning).

Well versed in longform projects, our Head of 2D Steve Murgatroyd supervised the work ranging from entire CG set builds to one of the tiniest comps of just over a pixel wide.
