Following an original idea from Anomaly regarding restoring vintage photographs from around the turn of 20th century our task was to R&D the most eye catching technique to really bring the characters and their backstories to life within a 30 second spot.

The decision was made to colourise the entire picture, taking mattes from every detail and digitally hand painting the image until the characters developed highlights in their hair and lifelike twinkle in their eyes.
