Jason Watts - Creative Director


Jason began his career at The Mill, becoming one of their most senior creatives, winning coveted awards from D&AD and The British Arrows. He has partnered with numerous brands, agencies and directors on multiple global campaigns for Ford, Nike, Skoda, Cadbury’s & AIB Bank to name but a few.

In 2004 Jason opened Freefolk, with the vision to create an independent creative studio, focusing on the work, the people, the culture and the ability to give a truly bespoke service to his clients. Within two years of opening, the studio was voted Top Ten Post Houses (Campaign, 2005) and has been voted in the Top 10 UK Facilities for the last 20 years (Televisual).

In 2018 Freefolk opened its Film & Episodic division. Alongside his commercial collaborations, Jason has also supervised a number of Longform projects, including the BAFTA nominated 'Emerald City', Daniel Barber's 'The Keeping Room', Neil Marshall's Doomsday and the 2018 Netflix Series ' The Alienist' winning an Emmy for Best Visual Effects. More recently Freefolk have worked on Napoleon, Fast & Furious 10 and were lead vendor on Wes Anderson’s ‘The Phoenician Scheme’ & Netflix’s ‘Kaos’. Creativity and exceptional work have always been the driving force of Jason's career as a
VFX artist & Supervisor.
