Avis / Unlock
Rental car company Avis launched it’s first ever TV campaign to the familiar but brilliantly re-worked sounds of ‘Let’s go fly a kite’. Beautifully framed in stunning locations, VCCP's creative team Kieran Knight and Veryan Prigg worked with Director Marcus Soderland to create a campaign that would stand out from your average car advert.
Where others have chosen to show the cars mobilised, there is something charming in the way the cars in this spot remain stationary, beeping with character as their drivers leave them parked up in a variety of locations. The film was shot entirely on the black and white Red camera and was graded by colourist Paul Harrison.
Paul comments, ‘We wanted the shots of the cars to look like portraits, beautiful images with dark skies which gave the film a dramatic feel. Marcus wanted an Ansel Adams feel with beautiful drama. I think that comes across in the overall feel of the film. It’s very luminous looking.’
