Freefolk are thrilled to announce that they've been awarded the highest security clearance TISAX accreditation. They are now one of a very select group of VFX houses who are accredited to work with brands within the automotive industry. So now we’re on the exclusive list and are automotive VIPs we are fully secure to talk to you about your next project for all your automotive brands requiring this super special stamp of approval. TISAX is the European cyber-security and vendor due diligence platform developed specifically to protect data within the automotive industry and is used to assess organisations involved in all areas of the production of vehicles.
The Team
STEVE MURGATROYD - VFX SUPERVISOR
Steve Murgatroyd is Freefolk's Supervisor of Long Form VFX and an Emmy award-winning Flame artist & Supervisor.
Steve has been working in VFX for 25 years, spending 16 of those at Freefolk, creating award-winning work across commercials, film and TV. His passion for VFX work combined with his dedication, attention to detail and extensive experience as an onset supervisor and flame artist has proved invaluable when leading a team and creating industry-leading effects. Steve is the VFX Supervisor on Wes Anderson’s new film TPS - The Phoenician Scheme, which has just delivered in time for Cannes Film Festival 2025, and was previously the lead Supervisor on the Emmy Award Winning, VES and Bafta Nominated series 'The Alienist' as well as Bafta Nominated 'Emerald City’ and Netflix series ‘KAOS’. His technical, creative and hands-on understanding of post production across multiple disciplines is testament to his position as VFX Supervisor.
HARIN HIRANI - CG SUPERVISOR
Harin Hirani is Freefolk’s award-winning Head of 3D and led the CG team for TNT/Paramount’s ‘The Alienist’, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Visual Effects (2018).
Recently he has delivered over 140 x science fiction planet environment shots for Dr Who (S2 Ep 3) The Well, and a further 730 shots 'Anansi Boys' (Amazon), 350 shots for ‘Fate: The Winx Saga’, 200 shots on Netflix’s Bafta-Nominated ‘Cursed’, and hero environments and FX shots for the critically acclaimed HBO series ‘The Third Day’ starring Jude Law. He has also overseen major advertising campaigns for Freefolk, working with a handpicked team of CG artists to build a strong department that offers a deep understanding across a broad skillset of key 3D and FX disciplines including Houdini, animation and creature work.
ROB SHERIDAN - 2D SUPERVISOR
Rob Sheridan works in Freefolk’s Film and Episodic department delivering complex sequences for the studio. He is well versed in all aspects of VFX, from on-set supervision to complex compositing. He also sets up Nuke pipeline for each of his shows, bidding on upcoming projects and mentoring artists, supervising and training Nuke artists across the studio.
Recently Rob was Freefolk’s VFX Supervisor on Anansi Boys, 730 x Shots (Amazon Studios) - a magical series with ambitious set extension work, recreating sun kissed Florida from Scottish location plates, also Brixton and several very challenging face replacement scenes. After Anansi Boys, Rob led the longform team on Dr Who, supervising 140 x shots for Russell T Davies’ stated favourite episode of the series (S2 Ep 3) - The Well.
